The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) is heading to Mexico from September 22 to 25 on an economic mission led by its president, Chakib Alj, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new investment and partnership opportunities.

This visit, organized in coordination with the Moroccan Embassy in Mexico City, is part of a strategy to diversify markets and increase openness towards Latin America. The agenda includes institutional meetings with the Mexican Confederation of Chambers of Industry (CONCAMIN) and the Coordinating Council of Employers (CCE), as well as discussions with several members of the Mexican government. Additionally, it will feature direct business meetings and site visits to industrial hubs in Puebla and Guadalajara to explore potential areas of cooperation.

Chakib Alj emphasized that sectors such as industry, agri-food, tourism, renewable energy, and technological innovation represent common levers for building sustainable partnerships and enhancing the competitiveness of both economies. He also highlighted Morocco’s position as a competitive platform in Africa and a continental leader in the automotive and aerospace industries, while reinforcing its presence in textiles, pharmaceuticals, and food processing.

Alj asserted that the kingdom’s stability and advanced infrastructure, notably the Tangier-Med port, along with its skilled labor force and recent reforms like the new investment charter and the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, make Morocco an attractive destination for foreign capital.

He concluded by stating that Morocco has the potential to serve as a vital gateway for Mexican investors into Africa, while Mexico can provide Moroccan entrepreneurs with extensive access to the Latin American market.
