Rachid Taoussi, coach of Marrakech’s Kawkab, tried to focus on the positive side despite the defeat against Wydad Athletic Club, losing 1-0 in the opening match of the professional league.
In the press conference that followed the match, Taoussi clarified that his team entered the game with great confidence, stating: “The players were mentally and physically present, and despite missing some crucial chances, particularly a penalty, they displayed high spirit and clear determination.”
The coach added that the second half saw complete tactical offensive changes in an attempt to create a strong reaction and equalize the score, but the team failed to find the back of the net.
Taoussi concluded his statement by saying: “I commend the players’ resolve and fighting spirit, and I hope we see a positive reaction in the upcoming rounds. This season’s competition is very tough, and it requires a lot of focus and discipline to continue delivering a performance worthy of Kawkab Marrakech.”
