Samira Sitail highlights Morocco’s leadership in Africa and the strengthening of relations with Paris during the “Geopolitical Meetings” in France.
The city of Trouville-sur-Mer in northern France recently hosted the tenth edition of the “Geopolitical Meetings,” featuring the Kingdom of Morocco as this year’s honored guest in an event that emphasizes Africa and its strategic role. Morocco’s participation was widely praised for its royal vision and initiatives that have solidified the country’s position as a pivotal player in Africa.
During the opening session, Morocco’s ambassador to France, Samira Sitail, asserted that Morocco’s role in Africa enjoys complete credibility, noting that the kingdom’s positioning on the continent and the South-South cooperation it promotes reflects the wise leadership of His Majesty the King.
The ambassador highlighted the extraordinary diplomatic efforts exerted by King Mohammed VI, which include fifty visits to African countries resulting in the signing of over 1,500 agreements and protocols, thus granting a tangible practical dimension to Moroccan vision. She considered Morocco’s recognition in this edition a celebration of Moroccan-French friendship, contributing to the enhancement of bilateral relations through a comprehensive perspective that transcends what is accomplished between Paris and Rabat.
On his part, the founder of the event, Frédéric Encel, described Morocco’s participation as “significant,” emphasizing that the kingdom represents a rising power in North and West Africa and beyond, and as a country that shares historical, cultural, and geographical ties with France.
The three-day event will feature a series of discussions by experts, diplomats, and academics covering strategic topics such as issues of war and peace in Africa, terrorism as a common plague, the role of women, as well as culture, memory, and Francophonie.
This prominent presence underscores Morocco’s position as a reliable partner and a key player on the African continent, reaffirming the success of Moroccan diplomacy in establishing international trust in its constructive role on both regional and international stages.
