Dr. Idriss El Karawi has been re-elected as the Vice President for the Africa region within the Executive Office of the International Francophone Homes Network (RIMF) in Montreal.

During the network’s general assembly, its leadership structure was renewed with the election of three co-presidents: Christian Philippe (France), Elian Rejean Lafleur Nsom (Cameroon), and Marcel Morin (Quebec). The vice presidencies were assigned to representatives from the four regions of the network, with Idriss El Karawi (Morocco) and Roussin Senghor (Senegal) representing Africa, while Marcel Morin, Mariva Cestor, and Bertrand Dupetigny (Canada) represented the Americas. Asia was represented by Stefan Lam (Hong Kong) and Nicola Limoneiri (Vietnam), and Europe by Linda Traciani (Albania) and Jean-Claude Mayral, Lucy Nauka, and Jean-Pierre Chiaverini (France), according to a statement from the network.

The network, headquartered in Ottawa, serves as a space for members sharing common values of solidarity, respect, freedom of thought, and openness to cultures and civilizations. It aims to contribute to building a world based on human dignity, justice, brotherhood, and shared responsibility.

Established in September 2020 as a non-governmental international organization under Canadian law, the International Francophone Homes Network seeks to establish what it terms the “global village of Francophone homes,” serving as a platform for dialogue and expression for Francophone civil societies, aiming to promote a citizenship-based Francophonie that meets the challenges of the 21st century.
