Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, was re-elected unopposed as a member of the Executive Council of the Arab Football Federation during the 28th General Assembly held on Monday, September 15, 2025, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Lekjaa’s election came alongside prominent figures from Africa, including Hani Abu Rida from Egypt, Ahmed Yahya from Mauritania, and Dr. Moatasem Jafar from Sudan, reflecting Morocco’s esteemed position in the Arab and continental football arenas.
In related news, Morocco is preparing to host the Women’s Arab Cup, scheduled to take place from September 2 to 18, 2027. This once again places Morocco at the center of Arab football events and underscores its leading role in supporting and promoting women’s football in the region.
