On Monday, the twenty-fifth edition of the “Marhaba” operation, organized annually under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, concluded with a record crossing of over 4 million and 60 thousand Moroccans residing abroad, reflecting an increase of more than 11 percent compared to the 2024 edition. This figure clearly demonstrates the strong connection of Moroccans around the world to their homeland, as well as the significant logistical efforts dedicated to ensure their reception in optimal conditions.

Sanaa Derdekh, the communication director at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, stated that the operation, which spanned from June 10 to September 15, experienced a smooth management of traveler flow, even during peak times when the number of crossings exceeded 86 thousand individuals per day. She added that over a thousand medical professionals, nurses, and social assistants were mobilized across 26 reception centers in Morocco and abroad, providing support to more than 88 thousand individuals, whether in administrative and customs services or through managing medical emergencies.

This year’s edition witnessed notable humanitarian interventions, including the rescue of an infant in critical condition at the Tangier Med Port and the care of a traveler arriving from Switzerland who fell into a coma due to a sharp drop in blood sugar.

Omar Moussa Abdullah, in charge of the operation at the foundation, highlighted that this year’s edition represented significant success thanks to the close coordination among various stakeholders, noting that the opening of new centers in Laayoune and Dakhla contributed to expanding the reception network and facilitating the community’s access to services.

He emphasized that this continuous mobilization reflects the human dimension of the “Marhaba” operation, considering it a long-standing initiative for a quarter of a century, addressing the needs of Moroccans worldwide and affirming the special care that His Majesty the King provides to his children abroad.
