Mohammed Mehdi Ben Saïd: Empowering Moroccan Girls is a Key Pillar for Comprehensive Development and a Balanced Society

Mohammed Mehdi Ben Saïd, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, affirmed that empowering girls is not merely a rights-based demand but represents a fundamental lever for building a balanced society, allowing all its members to contribute to shaping a better future. This was stated during the scientific forum on “Empowering Young Girls at the Core of Inclusive and Sustainable Development,” which took place on Monday morning in Rabat, with his speech read on his behalf by the ministry’s secretary-general, Abdelaziz Boujdaïni.

The minister noted that the forum brings together experts, researchers, institutional actors, and civil society representatives to exchange experiences and formulate practical recommendations to enhance the integration of girls across various sectors. He emphasized that the choice of this topic aligns with the strategic vision of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, which positions investment in youth, especially women and girls, as a crucial entry point for achieving social justice and comprehensive development.

Ben Saïd explained that the forum addresses five thematic workshops covering education and training, health and mental well-being, personal development and leadership, civic participation and economic and territorial integration, and combating violence and protecting rights. He confirmed that these areas reflect the magnitude of challenges and stakes, opening avenues for innovative and context-appropriate solutions, inspired by the best regional and international practices.

Ben Saïd stated that the forum will produce strategic conclusions and a clear action plan to strengthen public policies and programs aimed at girls, contributing to consolidating a culture of equality and equal opportunities, in line with Morocco’s international commitments and sustainable development goals.
