Minister Aml Falah Sghrouchni today delivered a speech in Trouville-sur-Mer, France, during the tenth edition of the Geopolitical Meetings, highlighting Morocco’s digital strategy and the challenges associated with technological transformation across the African continent.
The minister emphasized that Morocco’s digital vision is based on the directives of King Mohammed VI and aims, through the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy, to leverage digitization as a tool for serving citizens, businesses, and comprehensive development. She also announced a new draft law under the title “Administration X.0,” aimed at modernizing the administration in coordination with specialized national institutions for data protection and cyber security.
Sghrouchni highlighted the central role of artificial intelligence in the national roadmap, which is founded on the principles of data sovereignty, inclusive innovation, and ethical governance, affirming that Morocco aims to strengthen its position as a regional player in this domain.
In a message directed at Africa, the minister asserted that the continent’s digital future must be built by Africans and for their benefit, within a framework of cooperation and solidarity, pointing to initiatives such as “Gitex Africa.”
She concluded by announcing the launch of the “Digitization for Sustainable Development” (D4SD) initiative in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, reinforcing Morocco’s status as a digital hub in the Arab and African worlds, open to the rest of the globe.
