In a move that reflects the growing defense cooperation between Mauritania and the Kingdom of Morocco, the Mauritanian Army’s operations team hosted a joint workshop this week with a delegation from the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. The session focused on discussing security challenges in the region, particularly concerning counter-terrorism and border security.

The meeting was attended by several Mauritanian officers from operations, intelligence, military security, and military cooperation, alongside two officers representing the Moroccan side. The workshop featured intensive exchanges of expertise through technical and analytical presentations from both parties, followed by in-depth discussions on ways to enhance security cooperation.

A statement from the Mauritanian military indicated that organizing this workshop is part of efforts to strengthen security coordination between the two countries and reflects a mutual commitment to combat cross-border threats more effectively.

The Moroccan delegation received an official welcome from the operations team leader, Colonel Hina Bousif, who discussed current military cooperation areas between Nouakchott and Rabat, as well as potential opportunities for expanding this collaboration in the future.

This activity is part of a strategic vision aimed at establishing military partnership between Mauritania and Morocco as a crucial pillar for stability and addressing the growing security challenges in the Maghreb and Sahel regions.
