Marrakech: The Police Authority Denies Allegations by a British Woman Denied Entry into the Country

The Marrakech Police Authority has confirmed that the claims circulating regarding an incident involving border police at Marrakech Menara Airport are unfounded. This response comes in light of statements made by a British citizen who alleged she was treated unlawfully upon her arrival at the airport without a passport.

A statement issued by the police authority clarified that the individual in question arrived on July 31 on a flight without possessing any travel document that would allow her entry into the country, in accordance with legal provisions regarding the entry and residence of foreigners in Morocco.

The same source indicated that coordination with the airline and ground handling services did not lead to the recovery of the lost passport on board the aircraft, necessitating her denial of entry and her return to her home country on the same day.

The police authority also noted that it reviewed surveillance footage from the arrival and boarding processes and found no evidence to support the foreign citizen’s claims, emphasizing that the entry of foreigners into the country adheres to strict legal procedures that must be followed.
