The Director General of National Security and Territorial Monitoring, Abdellatif Hammouchi, conducted an inspection on Friday, September 5, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat to review the security and safety protocols established by the Rabat police to secure the national team’s match against Niger, part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
During the visit, Hammouchi toured various facilities and sports installations within the stadium, where he was briefed on the security plans for organizing the match. This included traffic management plans to ensure smooth movement for fans and safety measures to secure the environment inside and outside the stadium.
Hammouchi also evaluated the protocols prepared to secure the new stadium, both during World Cup qualifying matches and as part of the ongoing preparations to host the African Cup of Nations finals at the end of this year.
The Regional Director of Security in Rabat provided detailed explanations about the human and logistical resources mobilized to ensure the safety of the complex, in addition to the new digital system for monitoring the facilities and sports venues.
This visit is part of the national police’s preparations to secure various upcoming international sports events within a comprehensive strategy that includes the development of sports security teams, strengthening international security cooperation, and implementing the “Stadia” system in coordination with Interpol.
