Exclusion of Morocco’s Kassi, Zahafi, and Aasal from the 800-meter Qualifiers at the World Championships in Tokyo

Moroccan athletes Abdellatif Kachloul, Moaaz Zigout, and Abdelrahman Assal have been eliminated from the 800-meter race in the World Athletics Championships taking place in Tokyo, after their struggles in the qualifying round that led to the semi-finals.

Kachloul participated in the second heat, finishing in eighth place with a time of 1:46.80, while Zigout finished fifth in his heat with a time of 1:47.14. Assal ended the seventh heat in seventh place with a time of 1:46.12, thus ending the trio’s hopes of advancing to the finals.

The prospects now rest on the remaining Moroccan athletes competing in the championship, as the country awaits individuals who can represent Morocco in the later stages.
