Enhancing Agricultural Cooperation Between Morocco and Poland: A Focus of Discussions in Warsaw

Strengthening Agricultural Cooperation Between Morocco and Poland at the Center of Talks in Warsaw

In the ongoing dynamic of cooperation between Morocco and Poland, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed Aouari, arrived today in Warsaw, where he held discussions with his Polish counterpart, Stefan Krajewski, focusing on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.

This meeting, held during a working visit where Aouari leads an official delegation to Poland, concentrated on strategic files, primarily enhancing trade exchanges, ensuring the health safety of agricultural products, as well as training, scientific research, and innovation.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press, Aouari affirmed that this visit reflects the mutual desire to establish a strong and sustainable partnership between the two countries, highlighting the existing economic complementarity, especially in agriculture and food industries, as well as a convergence of visions towards building a strategic cooperation that serves food security and mutual development. He reminded that agricultural exchanges between Morocco and Poland reached 1.7 billion dirhams during the period 2022-2024.

For his part, the Polish minister viewed the meeting as an opportunity to identify practical areas of cooperation capable of enhancing trade exchanges and expertise sharing, along with strengthening academic cooperation in the agricultural sector. He added that Poland views Morocco as a stable strategic partner and a reliable friend in North Africa, emphasizing the importance of building bridges between Europe and Africa based on dialogue and tangible projects.

The visit’s program included meetings with key actors in the Polish agricultural sector, a visit to the Bronisze wholesale food market, the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as an overview of the largest poultry production unit in Poland. The minister also visited the University of Life Sciences in Warsaw and the specialized institute in horticulture, where discussions addressed training issues, applied research, and technological innovation in the fields of fruits and vegetables.

Aouari was accompanied during this visit by a significant delegation that included the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development, Rachid Benali, along with representatives from professional organizations and senior officials from the ministry.
