Elche Continues to Monitor Ziyech

Elche, the Spanish club, has not definitively closed the transfer file, despite the summer transfer window having ended. The name of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech remains on the list of potential signings for the team, considering he has been a free agent since parting ways with Qatari club Al Duhail.
Elche concluded the transfer period with signings of full-backs Adria Pedrosa and Hector Furt, totaling 13 signings for the summer. However, coach Eder Sarabia has yet to acquire a new playmaker, a position he has repeatedly highlighted as needing reinforcement, according to the newspaper AS.
The same source indicated that the club’s management explored the possibility of signing Ziyech last week. However, financial obstacles related to his high salary, alongside concerns about his physical readiness, postponed the deal.
In recent hours, the topic has resurfaced as the transfer laws allow Elche to sign free agents even after the market has closed, provided suitable conditions are met.
In this context, Pedro Chinoka, the general director of Elche, stated: “We are open to considering all available options in the free agent market, and any name capable of raising the team’s level will be of interest to us.”
