Crackdown on Criminal Network Specializing in Theft
In collaboration with French law enforcement agencies, Moroccan judicial police have referred six individuals to the public prosecutor’s office in Casablanca on suspicion of connections to a criminal network involved in theft and concealing proceeds from an armed robbery committed on French soil.
According to a security source, technical investigations resulted in the seizure of 31 mobile phones, which were identified as stolen goods from an armed robbery that targeted a mobile phone distribution store in France last February.
The same source added that field operations led to the arrest of two merchants in Marrakech and Rabat, along with four other suspects involved in the possession, trafficking, and sale of the stolen mobile phones, in addition to the confiscation of smuggled and unidentified electronic equipment.
The detained individuals were presented before the public prosecutor after the investigation into the case was completed, highlighting the strength of cooperation and close coordination between the General Directorate of National Security and the French National Police in combating cross-border criminal networks.
