The Ait Amira area, part of the region of Shishouka Ait Baha, experienced a tense security situation this evening as a group of young people engaged in unauthorized protests, despite a ban issued by local authorities. The protests, which started for various reasons, escalated into riots and violence, prompting an urgent intervention by the authorities to manage the situation.
According to eyewitnesses, the demonstrations began early in the evening, with a number of youths gathering in the streets demanding the fulfillment of local needs. Over time, these protests devolved into acts of vandalism and violence, including the burning of public vehicles and the destruction of numerous waste containers in public areas. This led to chaos in the city streets, where public property was damaged, instilling fear among the residents and forcing many shopkeepers to close their businesses due to escalating tensions.
As the protests intensified, public forces intervened heavily to confront the protesters and contain the situation. Despite the security forces’ attempts to control the unrest, confrontations persisted for some time, with clashes occurring between demonstrators and law enforcement. Local authorities reinforced security by deploying additional units from various security forces to prevent the situation from escalating further.
