Casablanca Derby: Wydad Overcomes Raja with Two Goals and Claims First Points
The Wydad Athletic Club U23 team secured a victory against their traditional rivals Raja Athletic Club with a score of 2-0 in the Casablanca derby held today at the Wellness Complex, in the first round of the second amateur division championship – Northwest.
Wydad’s goals came from Mohamed El Wardi via a penalty and Badr Rachou, allowing their team to take three points right from the start of the season.
The match featured thrilling moments, as Wydad’s right-back Ibrahim sustained an injury that affected the team’s performance for some time, while Raja players expressed their discontent over some of the referee’s decisions during the match, adding a dramatic aspect to the encounter.
With this victory, Wydad starts the championship strongly and confirms its readiness to compete for top positions, while Raja will seek to correct its path in the upcoming matches.
