Casablanca: 21 Young People Arrested After Unauthorized Protests Causing Disruptions on the Highway at the Entrance of El Qarriya

On the night of Sunday, September 28, the local police in Casablanca arrested 21 young people following unauthorized protests on the highway at the entrance of El Qarriya, which led to a temporary halt in traffic and congestion.

Protesters raised slogans demanding freedom and social justice, alongside calls for reforms in the health and education sectors. However, the lack of official authorization turned the demonstration into a breeding ground for traffic disruption, violence, and unrest, deviating it from the proclaimed peaceful nature.

Security and local authorities quickly intervened, managing to contain the situation and reorganize traffic flow. Based on directives from the Public Prosecution, those arrested are now under custody pending their appearance before the judiciary.
