CAF Delays North African Qualifiers for U-17 Africa Cup of Nations
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the postponement of the North African qualifiers for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Originally scheduled for November 2025, the qualifiers have been moved to March 2026. This decision was made due to a scheduling conflict with the U-17 World Cup set to take place in Qatar, necessitating a rescheduling of the qualifiers to ensure all teams can participate at suitable times.
This postponement reflects CAF’s commitment to organizing competitions in harmony with global tournaments and providing youth teams the opportunity to prepare more effectively before participating in the continental championship.
It is important to note that the North African qualifiers for U-17 teams represent the first phase in determining the teams that will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations, a significant platform for discovering young talents in the region.
The upcoming version of the qualifiers is expected to feature intense competition among North African teams, as each nation aims to prepare its players in the best possible way ahead of the actual tournament in March 2026.
