Beni Mellal: Two Police Officers Arrested on Suspicion of Extortion and Bribery
The judicial police service in Beni Mellal launched an investigation on the afternoon of Thursday, September 25, 2025, under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor, to determine the involvement of an officer and a police inspector in a case of extortion and receiving bribes in exchange for not performing their official duties.
The arrests followed complaints from citizens, leading to the capture of one of the officers in the act of receiving the suspicious amount of money.
The two arrested officers have been placed under police custody pending further investigation to uncover all circumstances and details related to the case.
In parallel, the General Directorate of National Security issued a decision to temporarily suspend them from duty while awaiting the outcome of the judicial process, in accordance with the regulatory provisions concerning security personnel.
