Authorities Deport Undocumented Migrants from Casablanca to Other Cities
In recent days, security authorities in Casablanca have conducted field campaigns targeting several informal markets that are frequented by migrants from sub-Saharan African countries. These operations resulted in the arrest of a number of individuals, particularly those without residence documents or legal permits.
Informed sources indicated that several of those detained were placed in police custody for a limited period to verify their legal status before being deported to other cities in the northern and southern parts of the kingdom, as part of what the authorities described as a balanced redistribution among different regions.
Videos circulating on social media documented the process of unloading groups of migrants from buses arriving from Casablanca en route to other cities, as part of the measures undertaken by the relevant authorities to regulate the presence of undocumented migrants.
