Police authorities in Casablanca arrested an individual following an investigation into their activities on social media, related to unauthorized protests that took place in several cities last Saturday.
Investigations revealed that the arrested person was posting images and videos of protests in foreign countries that experienced violent events, combining them with images of protests within Morocco. Their goal was to incite people to take to the streets on September 27 and 28, 2025.
A statement from the Public Prosecutor at the Casablanca Criminal Court indicated that the suspect operated multiple accounts on social media platforms and managed to gather 4,000 followers in just three days. They aimed to reach 20,000 followers to launch a digital platform and generate financial profits, without a genuine interest in encouraging protests.
Furthermore, a search of the suspect’s personal computer revealed they had stored videos of both past and recent protests in foreign countries, which they had edited and disseminated to attract more viewers and followers.
Due to the seriousness of the actions, the suspect was placed in provisional detention, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to charge them with inciting the commission of felonies and misdemeanors through electronic means, referring the case to court while the individual remained in custody.
