A Public Prosecutor in Rabat Denies Allegations of Mistreatment of a Minor and Confirms Protection of Their Rights

A Public Prosecutor in Rabat Denies Allegations of Mistreatment of a Minor and Confirms Protection of Their Rights
A A

A public prosecutor in the Rabat Court of Appeal has denied allegations of child abuse and confirmed the protection of the minor’s rights.

The official dismissed claims made in a statement from a child protection organization dated August 31, 2025, which reported that a minor had been subjected to abusive behavior by the Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Appeal Court.

The source explained that the complaint filed by the child’s guardian against the uncle regarding suspicions of sexual assault falls under multiple judicial processes, both criminal and family law, and that the statement lacks any basis in fact.

The official affirmed that the Deputy Public Prosecutor conducted the hearing for all parties in accordance with the law and with complete professionalism, ensuring the protection of the child’s rights and prioritizing their best interests. He noted that the prosecutor cautioned the parents to set aside their disputes and not to pressure the child into making statements that would support their legal position, while also taking appropriate legal protective measures as necessary, with both parties’ counsel present.
