At least 15 people were killed today, Wednesday, in a drone strike targeting a market in the Darfur region of western Sudan, according to two local sources reported by Agence France-Presse.

This incident comes amid the armed conflict that has been ongoing since April 2023 between the Sudanese army and Rapid Support Forces, which has led to a widespread humanitarian crisis in the country.

The World Health Organization reported that the war has claimed the lives of no fewer than 40,000 people, displaced up to 12 million, and pushed many to the brink of famine.

It is worth noting that Darfur has witnessed repeated waves of violence in recent years, further exacerbating the security and humanitarian situation in the region.
