He added, “The Crimean Peninsula was taken from Ukraine just like a piece of candy is snatched from a small child, and Russia hasn’t fired a single shot to regain it,” criticizing former President Barack Obama for “handing it over.”
He stated, “NATO has discussed Ukraine’s membership in the alliance, which has long been rejected. Ukraine will not be a part of NATO.”
He further remarked, “Russia will not accept having an enemy on its borders. Everyone is tired of this war, and I assure you that there will be no American soldiers on the ground in Ukraine.”
He continued, “We have provided Ukraine with a lot of good weapons and significant financial support, but they are fighting a country much stronger than they are. The European leaders at the meeting in the White House were understanding of the need for Ukraine to make concessions on territory.”
