Tourism in Essaouira: Night Stays Increase by 14% in Classified Establishments Until the End of June

Essaouira continues to enhance its tourist appeal, with classified accommodation establishments recording 357,114 night stays by June 2025, marking a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2024, which saw 313,573 night stays.

The occupancy rate of tourist establishments in the city reached 45%, up from 42% a year ago. In June alone, the number of night stays rose from 53,313 to 55,700, reflecting a growth of 4%. The occupancy rate stood at 44% compared to 40% in June 2024.

On a national level, the sector maintained its positive trajectory, with night stays in classified establishments increasing by 13% during the first half of 2025, driven by a 16% rise in international tourist arrivals, alongside a 5% growth in domestic demand.
