The National Union of Press and Media Professions, affiliated with the Moroccan Labor Union, expressed its strong condemnation of the media conduct of the French newspaper “Le Monde.” In a statement received by “Express TV,” the union deemed the newspaper’s coverage glaringly biased in favor of opponents of Morocco’s territorial integrity.
The union described the publication as a blatant violation of the principles of objectivity and neutrality, asserting that such materials undermine the monarchy, the primary guarantor of national unity and stability, and violate the ethics of international journalism and the Paris Charter of Press Ethics.
The union reaffirmed that genuine journalism relies on careful investigation and listening to all parties, free from political alignment or serving dubious agendas. It stated that “Le Monde’s” actions constitute a flagrant breach of journalistic integrity and a misuse of a distinguished media platform to promote hostile narratives targeting national and territorial unity.
The union emphasized its absolute rejection of any external targeting of national issues, particularly the Moroccan Sahara, or attacks on the monarchy. It affirmed its commitment to defending the image of honest national journalism and exposing any media missteps that seek to distort facts or mislead.
