The annual Moulay Abdallah Amghar Festival, held in the Moulay Abdallah district of El Jadida from August 8 to 16, celebrates the intangible heritage and rich traditions of the Doukkala region, making it one of the largest festivals in the country.

The festival features a diverse range of cultural, religious, and recreational activities, including impressive Tbourida performances with 120 cavalry teams from various regions of Morocco, alongside three women’s teams. It also showcases thrilling falconry displays, concerts by well-known Moroccan artists, as well as Quranic evenings, remembrance sessions, and intellectual lectures.

Moulay Abdallah’s local council president, Mehdi Fatimi, emphasized that this year’s event will feature a varied program aimed at meeting the expectations of visitors, who are expected to number around four million. He added that several measures have been taken to ensure the event runs smoothly, including relocating the main stage to the entrance to ease congestion, and enhancing security presence for the safety of attendees.

Said Ghith, president of the regional Tbourida federation, noted that the festival will have dedicated mechanisms for Tbourida shows to increase capacity, allowing more visitors to enjoy the highly anticipated performances.

The festival provides a unique platform to showcase Morocco’s cultural heritage across its religious, artistic, and traditional dimensions, attracting visitors from different areas due to its rich and varied programs, affirming its status as one of the most significant cultural events in the country.
