The Mulay Abdullah Amghar Journalism Award sees its first season, honoring pioneers of the profession.

The Mulay Abdullah Amghar season hosted the inaugural edition of the award named after the revered saint, attended by official, media, and academic figures. This initiative aims to honor journalists and celebrate their contributions, coinciding with the 46th anniversary of the recovery of the Tiris al-Gharb region.

In his opening speech, Hamza Rouaij emphasized that the launch of this initiative is a tribute to the noble message of journalism and an acknowledgment of the role played by journalists in serving the nation. He referenced the royal message directed to the national media in 2002, which stated that journalism serves as a lever to reinforce citizenship values and defend territorial integrity.

Rouaij noted that the award, named after Mulay Abdullah Amghar, is founded on values of honesty, loyalty, and safeguarding trust, calling on journalists to use truthful discourse as a means to enhance dialogue and national unity.

The ceremony was marked by the honoring of veteran journalist Mustafa Ashmawi, who has accumulated over 45 years of experience in the field and has worked with various national newspapers, including “Al-Ittihad Al-Ichtiraki,” alongside authoring a book about the history of Hassanien Al-Jadidi. The team from the program “Khair Li Blad” on the Second Channel was also celebrated for their role in highlighting the cultural heritage of Mulay Abdullah Amghar season. Additionally, Nadia Lmehidi, a media professor at the Higher Institute of Information and Communication, was honored.
