Industrial Production Price Index Stable with Minor Sectoral Variations

The latest note from the High Commission for Planning (HCP) stated that the Industrial Production Price Index for the manufacturing sector, excluding oil refining, experienced a slight decline of 0.1% in July 2025 compared to June. This decrease is primarily attributed to a 0.4% drop in food industry prices, a 0.2% decrease in the clothing sector, and a 0.3% decline in the production of rubber and plastic products.

Conversely, some sectors recorded limited increases, such as electrical equipment and metal products (+0.1%), and non-metallic mineral products (+0.3%).

In the extractive industries sector, the price index rose slightly (+0.1%) in July, while the indicators for the production and distribution of electricity and water remained stable with no changes compared to the previous month.

Detailed data reveal that the food industry index fell from 121.6 to 121.1, the clothing industry index from 124.1 to 123.8, and the rubber and plastic products index from 94.4 to 94.1. Meanwhile, mineral products saw an increase from 104.4 to 104.5, electrical equipment from 118.5 to 118.6, and non-metallic mineral products from 109.5 to 109.8. Sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, furniture, printing, electricity, and water did not witness any changes.

Overall, the figures reflect a relative stability in industrial production prices with slight variations among sectors, as prices decreased in food and textile industries while moderate increases were recorded in metal industries and building materials.
