Tangier: Arrest of a Danish Citizen of Palestinian Descent Wanted Internationally in a Murder Case
In the framework of international security cooperation and the pursuit of those involved in transnational crimes, the Tangier Police on Tuesday evening, August 19, arrested a 26-year-old man holding Danish citizenship and of Palestinian origin, based on an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities in Denmark.
The arrest followed meticulous investigations that led to identifying his location in Tangier. A check in the Interpol database revealed that he was the subject of a Red Notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Copenhagen, for his alleged involvement in an intentional murder using a firearm.
The events of the case date back to July 2025, when the crime was committed in the “Tingberg” area of Denmark, prompting Danish authorities to issue an international arrest warrant for the suspect.
The arrested individual has been placed under police custody, pending his presentation to the relevant public prosecutor. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat has been notified to take necessary measures and coordinate with Danish authorities regarding the potential extradition.
This operation is part of the General Directorate of National Security’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with international security agencies and intensifying efforts to pursue those wanted for serious criminal cases globally.
