Sidi Ifni: Attempt to Smuggle 922 kg of Hashish Foiled at Sea
In the early hours of Friday, August 22, national security forces in Sidi Ifni thwarted an international drug trafficking attempt and illegal immigration organized via maritime routes, resulting in the seizure of 922 kilograms of hashish.
During the operation, a rubber boat equipped with two engines was intercepted five kilometers from the city heading towards Tiznit. Onboard were seven individuals along with fuel containers and fifty bundles of drugs.
An investigation has been launched with the detained individuals under the supervision of the competent public prosecution to determine their connections with international drug trafficking and illegal immigration networks.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the General Directorate of National Security to combat transnational organized crime.
