Police Operation in El Jadida Leads to Arrest of Drug Dealers
As part of the security measures for the annual Moulay Abdellah Amghar Festival, a patrol from the Royal Gendarmerie in El Jadida arrested a well-known drug dealer yesterday evening in the bustling atmosphere of the festival, which attracts large crowds.
The arrested individual, known as (Y.), was apprehended in the Al-Masira neighborhood with over 100 narcotic pills, including “Ecstasy” and “Rivotril,” quantities intended for distribution among the youth. Authorities also found an iPhone in his possession, suspected to be used for coordination and promotion of drug sales.
Less than two hours after this operation, the same patrol arrested a second suspect named (A.), caught in the act attempting to sell “tire glue” of the type “Norlathix,” which is illegally used as a narcotic substance. His accomplice managed to escape on a black motorcycle of the type “S90,” while the search efforts led to the seizure of four boxes containing 159 units of the substance, ready for sale in the “Lmrahchen” area.
Field investigations conducted by the gendarmerie enabled them to identify the fugitive accomplice, a certain (Sh.), who resides in the “Al-Ithmana” area within the Moulay Abdellah community.
These targeted operations coincide with the annual festival known for its high foot traffic, prompting security authorities to intensify their on-the-ground presence and swift interventions to combat criminal phenomena, primarily the distribution of drugs among the youth.
