Pride in the Anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People: Overwhelming Joy on Youth Day
Wednesday, August 20, 2025, marks the seventy-second anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, a timeless national epic that we commemorate with deep sentiment and emotion, proud of our great national achievements. This occasion allows us to reflect on the values of heroism, struggle, resistance, freedom, and dignity, as the Moroccan people displayed extraordinary sacrifices during this blessed revolution, setting remarkable examples in the history of liberation movements worldwide.
At that time, Moroccans demonstrated their unity and solidarity between the throne and the people, showing their readiness to give everything to defend their religious sanctities, uphold their national constants, and preserve their authentic Moroccan identity. It is a day when we remember the noble souls of our martyrs who redeemed the nation with their pure blood, and we renew our gratitude to our resilient fighters who honestly and faithfully crafted the epic of freedom and independence.
The Revolution of the King and the People will remain a source of inspiration for successive generations, a symbol of national cohesion, and evidence that Morocco’s strength lies in the unity of its people and their loyalty to their king, defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and status among nations.
It is serendipitous that the anniversary of the glorious Youth Day, commemorated annually by the Moroccan people, coincides this year with the sixty-second anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and support him, which falls tomorrow, Thursday, August 21, 2025. This cherished national occasion provides an opportunity to highlight the continuous care and steadfast commitment that His Majesty has towards the younger generations, to enhance their involvement in the renewing dynamics of Moroccan society and to engage them actively in various aspects of national life.
Thus, Youth Day remains a renewed occasion to recall the creative energies and immense human potential of the future generation, capable of significantly contributing to enhancing Morocco’s standing among nations, under the wise and visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and support him.
The royal attention to youth was also evident in the preparation of the new development model, where His Majesty King Mohammed VI emphasized in his significant speech to the nation on the occasion of the sixty-fifth anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People (August 20, 2018) the necessity of placing youth issues at the core of the new development model, considering them the true wealth of the nation and a fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development. His Majesty also stressed the importance of enabling this demographic group with spaces for participation and effective contribution in various national initiatives, enhancing their confidence in the future and making them key players in the democratic and developmental building of the kingdom.
