Overnight Stays in Classified Accommodation Establishments Rise by 13% in the First Half of 2025
The Tourism Observatory reported that the average number of overnight stays recorded in classified tourist accommodation establishments increased by 13% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
The observatory, in a document regarding tourism statistics in Morocco for June 2025, attributed this growth to a 5% rise in national tourism and a 16% increase in international tourism.
According to the same source, several regions showed positive results compared to June 2024. Tangier topped the list with a 24% increase, followed by Casablanca at 18%, Fes at 16%, Essaouira at 14%, Agadir at 10%, Al Haouz at 9%, Marrakesh at 6%, and Rabat at 5%.
In terms of foreign currency earnings from international tourism in Morocco, the revenue surpassed 53.961 billion dirhams during the first six months of 2025, marking a 10% change.
The observatory noted that by the end of June, the number of tourists arriving through border crossings increased by 19%, reaching 8,884,396 people compared to the same period in 2024.
