The annual Moulay Abdellah Amghar season concluded on Saturday, August 16, 2025, marking the end of a 2025 edition that attracted over six million visitors, highlighting the immense appeal of this heritage event on both national and international scales. The event, organized from August 8 to 16 by the Moulay Abdellah municipality in partnership with the El Jadida Prefecture, the Regional Council, the Local Scientific Council, and Filat Distribution, featured a diverse program that blended heritage, arts, culture, and local economy, enriching the visitors’ experience.
The season witnessed the largest gathering of traditional equestrian art (Tbourida) in the kingdom at the “First Engine” and “Second Engine” squares, with participation from 122 groups, including three women’s groups and over two thousand horses. This enhanced the event’s status as a national reference platform for this authentic heritage art. Concurrently, the musical stage attracted thousands of visitors during the evenings, showcasing artists from Moroccan folk music, including Saïd and Saïda Charaf, completing the season’s experience with a variety of heritage and artistic performances.
The season was not limited to entertainment; it reaffirmed the historical and spiritual significance of the occasion through traditional processions (Ouled Amghar) and religious visits, while the Local Scientific Council of El Jadida, in collaboration with the Regional Department of Islamic Affairs, enriched the program with cultural, religious, and scientific activities, adding an additional intellectual and spiritual dimension to the event.
The season also had a tangible impact on the local economy, with dozens of craft and local products pavilions experiencing vibrant activity, while the hospitality, restaurant, and service sectors registered a noticeable recovery, confirming the event’s role as a driver for local development and a source of economic and cultural influence in the region. The edition concluded with final Tbourida displays and concerts, followed by fireworks that illuminated the sky of Moulay Abdellah, providing the audience with an exceptional visual finale befitting the event’s stature.
With this edition, the Moulay Abdellah Amghar season affirmed its position as one of Morocco’s foremost cultural and heritage events, uniting tradition, art, and economic and social dimensions, while solidifying its role as a catalyst for development and national and international recognition.
