JD.com Tops the List of China’s Largest 500 Private Companies for 2025
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has topped the list of the largest 500 private companies in China, as revealed by the National Federation of Industry and Commerce during a summit held in Shenyang, northeast China. Alongside it, Alibaba and Hengli Group maintained their positions in the top three for the fourth consecutive year, reflecting the continued dominance of these corporate giants in the market.
The 27th edition of the ranking included 6,379 companies, each surpassing a revenue of 1 billion yuan (approximately $140 million) in 2024, while the minimum threshold for inclusion in the list was set at 27 billion yuan. The total revenue of the ranked companies reached 43.05 trillion yuan, indicating ongoing growth.
JD.com achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first private Chinese company to break the annual revenue barrier of 1 trillion yuan, reporting approximately 1.16 trillion yuan.
The ranking also showed an improvement in company profitability, with a combined net profit of 1.8 trillion yuan, reflecting an increase of 6.48% compared to the previous year, while 361 companies recorded growth in their revenues.
