Foreign Trade: The Government Continues Its Regional Tour in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra

Follow-Up

The momentum driven by the industry and trade sector to promote the government’s foreign trade development program (2025-2027) continued with a meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region. The event saw the participation of government officials, economic players, and representatives from the private sector.

The meeting, chaired by Omar Haji, the Secretary of State in charge of foreign trade, included the presence of Mohamed Yaacoubi, the region’s governor, and Rachid Abdi, the president of the regional council, alongside the ministry’s secretary general, representatives from the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, professional chambers, elected officials, and several exporters and economic stakeholders.

The session also featured presentations from Anwar Al-Alaoui Ismaili, the director general of “Maroc PME,” who discussed support mechanisms for businesses, and Wafaa Merioua, the general manager of “AtlanticRe,” who introduced new insurance offers to enhance the competitiveness of Moroccan exporters on the international stage.

The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region stands out as a strategic hub for foreign trade, hosting 445 exporting companies—approximately 8.9% of the national total—generating an industrial turnover directed towards exports that reaches 44.7 billion dirhams.

This meeting is part of a national tour that began on July 21 in Agadir, aimed at bringing support mechanisms closer to businesses across various regions of the kingdom, ensuring equitable access to export opportunities, enhancing Morocco’s presence in global markets, and providing tailored support to different categories of businesses.

This initiative aligns with the royal vision for achieving balanced and comprehensive development and embodies the government’s commitment to establishing robust foundations for foreign trade to boost the competitiveness of the national economy and enhance its resilience to global shifts.
