Fes… Funeral of Chief Inspector Nour Eddine Sayad, Victim of Imouzzer Attack
The funeral of Chief Inspector Nour Eddine Sayad was held today, August 22, 2025, after Friday prayers at the Wislane Cemetery in the Bab Ftouh neighborhood of Fes. He passed away yesterday due to severe injuries sustained in a knife attack in the city of Imouzzer Kandar.
The deceased was on duty, organizing traffic, when he was suddenly attacked by a 63-year-old homeless man suffering from mental health issues, who inflicted fatal stab wounds. The suspect was apprehended immediately, and the weapon used in the crime was seized, while an investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor.
The funeral was marked by a large turnout of the late officer’s family, colleagues from the National Security, and citizens from Fes and Imouzzer Kandar, all of whom were committed to accompanying his remains to their final resting place in a somber atmosphere of grief and sorrow.
The Director General of National Security issued a decree promoting the deceased posthumously to the rank of Officer, along with instructions to oversee the funeral arrangements and provide necessary support to his family, in recognition of his sacrifices in fulfilling his professional duties.
