Dutch National Arrested in Tangier on Suspicion of Kidnapping an Infant

The police in Tangier arrested a 23-year-old Dutch national on Sunday, August 10, following an international arrest warrant issued by Belgian judicial authorities.

The arrest took place in one of the city’s neighborhoods, after a check in the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) database confirmed that he was wanted internationally on suspicion of involvement with a criminal gang implicated in robbery with violence and the kidnapping of an infant.

The suspect has been placed under provisional custody pending extradition procedures, with Belgian security authorities notified to initiate file transmission procedures.

This operation is part of international security cooperation and reflects the efforts of Moroccan security services in tracking wanted individuals involved in cross-border crime.
