Ban on Traditional Fishing Boats in Boujdour Due to Expected Weather Disturbances
It has been decided to prohibit traditional fishing boats from setting sail along the shores of the Boujdour maritime district tomorrow, Thursday, and the day after, Friday.
The Fisheries Delegation in Boujdour confirmed in a public notice that the coastal areas under its jurisdiction “will experience unfavorable weather conditions for sailing,” explaining that this decision aims to ensure the safety of fishermen.
This comes amid forecasts of northerly and northeasterly winds reaching speeds of 45 kilometers per hour, along with expectations of wave heights exceeding two meters during the mentioned period.
Typically, traditional fishing professionals are relied upon to adhere to the guidelines provided in announcements and reports from fisheries delegates, considering they are the group most affected by the weather disturbances that the kingdom’s coasts experience at various times of the year.
