Four individuals suspected of involvement in car theft and assault with a bladed weapon were arrested early Monday morning by police in Oujda, in coordination with their counterparts in Jerada. Among the detained was a person with a criminal record.

According to security sources, the suspects carried out two car thefts from public streets in Jerada over the past two weeks, during which the vehicle owners were physically assaulted with knives. Investigations led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of one of the stolen cars in a desolate area of Oujda.

During the search operations, police found six bladed weapons and a set of car keys, one of which belonged to the stolen vehicle, as well as three mobile phones suspected to have been obtained through criminal activities.

Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects is wanted nationally for alleged involvement in forming a criminal gang, theft, assault, negligence towards family, and sexual assault.

The arrested individuals were placed in custody pending a judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecution, aimed at uncovering all circumstances and details surrounding these criminal acts and identifying any other potential accomplices.
