A police officer has filed a complaint against a fake account that attributes crimes to him on social media.
The General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance announced that the security employee, identified as A.N., submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal, following false claims and fictitious crimes attributed to him by an account named “Jabroot” on social media.
The security statement confirmed that the concerned employee will benefit from the supportive rights guaranteed by the statutory framework for national security personnel, particularly regarding the principle of “state protection” in the face of crimes targeting them due to their duties or while performing them.
According to the same source, the complaint included actions described as involving both material and moral elements of offenses punishable by law, including false reporting of fictitious crimes, defamation, and insults, in addition to disseminating incorrect information and forged documents intended to harm the employee’s reputation and personal standing.
The statement clarified that the complainant, A.N.—an administrative employee who has spent many years in his role without operational or field responsibilities—was surprised recently by the emergence of the “Jabroot” account, which implicated him in fabricated events and misused his personal data, including his private phone number.
The complainant requested the Public Prosecutor to instruct the relevant authorities to open a judicial investigation aimed at identifying the individual or individuals behind these criminal acts and identifying all those involved in exploiting his name and data in fictitious cases that touch upon his dignity, family, and personal stature.
