A Chinese company invests 683 million dirhams to establish an automotive electronics factory in Morocco

In a new move to strengthen Morocco’s position as an industrial investment destination in the automotive sector, Chinese company Tianyouwei has announced the establishment of a branch in the Kingdom with capital exceeding 683 million dirhams. The aim is to develop automotive electronics and smart cabins while expanding its global presence.

The company stated in a press release that the Moroccan branch will be one of its significant overseas production facilities, aimed at leveraging contracts with local car manufacturers, enhancing international cooperation, accessing the European market, and improving the competitiveness of its products.

Tianyouwei added that this investment will enable it to enhance global industrial planning, expand its footprint in foreign markets, and meet international customer demands more efficiently. This move will also allow it to directly monitor market trends and needs.

This project is part of the growing dynamics of Chinese investments in Morocco’s automotive sector, which has begun to expand from a focus on tires to new fields such as electronics and smart cabins. This follows the announcement by China’s Bethel-Automotive Safety Systems in July of its investment of $75 million to create a subsidiary in Morocco.

Tianyouwei, which achieved operational revenues of 2.029 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, aims to enhance its market share both locally and internationally, drawing on its experience from previous branches in Mexico and Korea to bring production closer to global markets.
