A summer camp is set to launch at the Moulay Hassan Youth Center in the El Harraouiyine district, organized in coordination with the regional directorate of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in Mediouna. The camp will start on July 15, 2025, and will include children from various age groups belonging to the area.

This initiative is part of the national camping program, aiming to expand educational and recreational offerings for children, particularly in regions facing deficiencies in socio-cultural infrastructure, thereby reinforcing the principle of spatial justice.

The camp will focus on a variety of educational activities aimed at developing children’s life skills and instilling values of citizenship and civil behavior. Activities will include expressive and artistic workshops, environmental and awareness exercises, team sports, as well as reading, mental health, and nutrition workshops.

The program is based on an inclusive and participatory approach, allowing children, especially those from vulnerable social backgrounds, to play an active role in the camp. This perspective views camping as an educational right rather than a mere recreational privilege.

The establishment of this camp results from administrative and educational coordination overseen by the regional director, Mohammed Kraa, who has been supportive of youth projects in the region through field planning and engagement with the local community. Abd al-Haq Fkaak, the director of the youth center, has contributed to overseeing organizational and pedagogical aspects to ensure quality training and program implementation under suitable conditions.

Hosting the camp in El Harraouiyine carries special significance given its lack of recreational activities, marking a step toward integrating children into developmental pathways and creating a safe and motivating space that fosters belonging and self-formation.

The challenge extends beyond the camping period, aiming to embed a culture of educational activity as a tool for building children’s personalities, serving as a fundamental support for qualifying future generations towards more balanced and inclusive human development.
