The Ministry of National Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy has launched a series of special measures to welcome the Moroccan diaspora in the northern region for the summer of 2025. This initiative is part of the national campaign aimed at Moroccans living abroad, under the slogan “Urbanism and Housing in Service of the Moroccan World,” and it seeks to enhance the quality of reception and services offered to community members during the summer months.

Urban planning agencies in Tangier, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, and Larache, alongside the regional inspection, the regional directorate, and the Al Omrane Group, have mobilized their organizational, human, and logistical resources to ensure a suitable reception and facilitate services related to urbanism and housing for Moroccan expatriates.

The regional and provincial services of the ministry have established unified service desks to provide technical and administrative support, adopting an after-hours system that includes Saturdays. They have also provided remote communication channels through dedicated phone numbers and online portals. This initiative aligns with the royal directives aimed at enhancing care for the Moroccan diaspora.

The ministry has equipped reception areas at key transit points, including the Tangier Med and Al Hoceima ports, northern region airports, train stations, and rest areas, with the goal of facilitating reception, guidance, and the provision of necessary information under optimal conditions. Administrative procedures have been simplified, and digital platforms have been activated to allow expatriates to submit and track their requests remotely, alongside special support for investment projects that Moroccans living abroad intend to undertake.

The ministry plans to organize a series of communication and awareness activities throughout August, including open days and roundtable discussions to strengthen dialogue with community members. Additionally, it will participate in the Urbanism and Housing caravan aimed at introducing support programs and products from Al Omrane. The ministry’s local components will also commemorate National Migrant Day on August 10, reaffirming recognition of the pivotal role of the diaspora and strengthening the close ties that bind them to their homeland.
