The President of the Comoros, Ghazali Othmani, praised the strong relationship between his country and the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing its diversity and strategic importance in vital areas such as energy, training, and investment.

His remarks came during an official speech delivered in the capital, Moroni, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his country’s independence, where he described the partnership with Morocco as “strategic,” highlighting its role in supporting development efforts in the Comoros.

Othmani also underscored the diplomatic achievements of his country during its presidency of the African Union, noting its contribution to advocating for the issues of small island states, promoting peace, fostering reforms, and supporting education.

In a related context, under the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, the Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, a unit of the Moroccan armed forces participated in the official celebrations for the independence of the Comoros, in response to an official invitation extended by the Comorian authorities to Morocco.
