The “Amo Tadamon” System Surpasses 11.4 Million Beneficiaries and Activates Compensations Exceeding 2.3 Billion Dirhams
Follow-Up
Mustapha Baïtass, the official spokesperson for the government, announced that the number of beneficiaries from the mandatory basic health insurance system “Amo Tadamon,” aimed at the most vulnerable groups, has exceeded 11.4 million people, during the recent government council meeting.
The system, launched in December 2022, aims to enable citizens who are unable to contribute to access free health coverage within public institutions, in addition to compensations for treatment expenses in the private sector, financed directly by the state.
Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch revealed that over 3.7 million treatment files have been processed to date, with a total financial value nearing 2.38 billion dirhams.
This achievement reflects significant progress in the effort to expand social protection, in alignment with royal directives, and underscores the commitment of various institutions to implement a comprehensive and fair health coverage system for all citizens.
