In an effort to regulate the financial and organizational conditions governing player transfers during the summer transfer window, the National Professional Football League issued an official statement today, announcing that several national clubs are lagging behind in settling their financial positions. This delay may expose them to regulatory penalties that could hinder the registration of their new players.
The league clarified that it had contacted all clubs affiliated with it in both the first and second divisions, requesting them to submit their detailed financial reports by March 31, 2025. This is a prerequisite before the conclusion of the summer transfer window, which is set to end on August 15.
According to the same statement, ten clubs have yet to respond to this communication. In the first division, these clubs include IR Tanger and Olympic Safi, while the second division list comprises Wydad Fes, Ittihad Abi J’ad, Amal Tiznit, Moghreb Tétouan, Rapide de Beni Mellal, Chabab Ben Guérir, Ittihad Mohammedia, and Mouloudia Oujda.
The league emphasized that these clubs will not be able to access the digital platform for registering new players or obtaining their licenses after the transfer window, unless they rectify their financial situations within the legal deadlines. This measure is part of reforms aimed at enhancing financial governance and transparency within the clubs.
In conclusion, the National Professional Football League held the delinquent clubs fully responsible for any organizational or sporting consequences that may arise from this delay.
It is worth noting that the league had previously announced that the first division championship will commence on Friday, August 22, while the second division competitions will begin on September 5, 2025.
