Numerous Absences in Wydad Training as Benhashim Divides Team Ahead of New Season

The training sessions of Wydad Athletic Club have seen many absences among players as they prepare for the upcoming 2025-2026 football season under national coach Amin Benhashim.

Absent from the training sessions were Mabarek, Mofid, Zemraoui, Moutaraji, and Bouhara, due to their commitment to the local national team camp, while Oubing and Tanzanian player Suleiman Mwalim have not yet joined the group.

Coach Benhashim has adopted an organizational strategy that involves splitting the players into two groups. Training for the first group, consisting of 28 players, began on Sunday, while the second group’s training will commence on July 20, primarily featuring players likely to leave the team during the summer transfer window.

The second group includes names such as Mati, Harkas, Abdelmounaim Boutouil, Hamza Sakhy, Mofi, Walid Nasi, Mickael Malsa, Ismail Benqateb, Ayman Al-Dairani, along with Al-Habbash, Nasik Marmouq, Ghilan, Ait Braim, and Al-Mohammedi.

The remaining absentees are expected to join the upcoming sessions, while the club’s management continues to evaluate the status of several players in preparation for finalizing the squad ahead of the new season.
